John Augustyn got his start in quiz bowl in the 5th grade, when he against all odds won the 2018 Chicago Regional Championship for the National History Bee. He became so involved and passionate about the academic sport that he continued to play in various quiz bowl tournaments both regionally and nationally after the 2018 National History Bee. John is most notable for often being a solo player for his current school of Notre Dame.
