Springfield High School is a public high school located in the capital of Illinois. Considered one of the greatest in Southern Illinois, they have consistently been among the top fifteen teams in the state. They host the Barron Robinson Memorial Invitational. They stood 3rd at the 2007 Masonic State Tournament, 4th at the 2008 IHSA State Championship Tournament, 2nd at the 2022 IHSA State Championship Tournament, and have played at the HSNCT multiple times, where they made playoffs twice (2012 and 2013).
Springfield competes in Class 2A for all IHSA Scholastic Bowl affiliated activities. They belong to the Central State 8 Conference, in which they hold the most championship titles.

Other notable players include Carl Butt, Caitie Flynn, Johnny Smith, Patrick Northrup, Drew Borland, Arnav Nagrecha, and Ethan Baima. They were coached by Dave Adkins for fourteen years, who is currently in the IHSSBCA Hall of Fame. After Adkins's retirement in 2015, Springfield was coached by Christine Craddock for a few years.
