The 1977-78 season for Richview CI in Toronto was not particularly noteworthy: the team was eliminated in the first round of Reach for the Top by eventual national champions Vincent Massey. However, the team was led by current Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper.

Another future PM, Kim Campbell, participated in the 1964-65 season of Reach for the Top (when it was still only Vancouver-based), playing for Prince of Wales Secondary School.
