Ramesh Kannappan was a good quiz bowl player for Maryland in the mid 1990s who then played for Texas. Along with John Nam and Carol Guthrie, he cofounded ACF.

At the 1995 Penn Bowl, he captained a Maryland C that went on a fabled run to the finals before losing to Chicago.
