George Washington or GW is a college in Washington, D.C. that has fielded a successful quizbowl team in the past. During the 1990s and early 2000s they fielded an active team that was something of a rival to the Maryland team and reached various nationals. In the mid 2000s to 2007-2008 the team was relatively inactive, usually attending only non-packet submission tournaments in close proximity to DC, but for 2008-2009 has revived a bit.
Tournaments
Until 2002, GW hosted Beltway Bandits, a trash tournament. It also hosted at least one incarnation of Capitol Punishment, another trash tournament.
