Experiment I was run alongside the fall 2007 [[Illinois Open]] and Experiment II was run with the spring 2009 edition of [[FICHTE]]. Both tournaments were tossup-only events that featured very difficult tossups and a superpower/power structure. This tournament is believed to have introduced the [[superpower]] concept and the idea of a vanity event at a post-CO difficulty level to quizbowl.
