Season

The ’93 season was a year of activity, success, and innovation for the academic teams. The varsity and junior varsity teams played a total of 119 games in 16 competitions. The varsity quiz bowl team coached by Mr. Weinberg, compiled an overall record of 54-30-1, advancing to the quarter final level or better in 8 of the 11 tournaments. The team won 5 trophies for their top four finishes, including second place in the Canton Invitational and the Inter-County Quiz Bowl League. With the extra satisfaction of eliminating rival Seaholm H.S. from the competition, CC placed a very respectable fifth in the state championship tournament in Port Huron.

The 1992-1993 season saw the creation of the Junior Varsity Quiz Bowl team. It was coached by Lynn Welborn. Members of that team included Greg Tracy, Steve Andriola, Jeff Proctor, Michael Buchanan, Hernan Munoz, Greg Van Hoey, and Clint McDonell.
