In 2013-2014, the Virginia A team led by Matt Bollinger went 13-1 at ICT and 19-0 at ACF Nationals, becoming the fifth team, after 1999 Chicago, 2002 Michigan, 2005 Michigan, and 2007 Chicago to unify the two overall titles in collegiate quizbowl.

ACF Nationals

The Virginia A squad that won ACF Nationals consisted of Matt Bollinger, Evan Adams, Dennis Loo, and Tommy Casalaspi. The team went 19-0 en route to clearing the field, converting 285 tossups and negging 27 times and average a tournament-best 458.2 points per game.

Matt was the top scorer in the tournament with 104.46ppg in the prelims.

NAQT ICT

The team went 13-1, and beating Yale in the finals. The team finished with 81 powers, 126 tens, and negged 27 times. All that added up to 416.8 points per game.
