In 2018, Plano West won the NAQT HSNCT. They also won the [[2018 NAC|National Academic Championship]. In addition, this team is the most recent NAC championship team to possibly deserve the title of the top team in the nation, given its victory at the NAQT HSNCT.
Their NAQT A team consisted of Jaskaran Singh, Abhinav Godavarthi, Avi Ackermann, and Thomas Gioia. Dachey Lin, Ryan Conti, and Anish Yellaturu were added for the NAC team. They were coached by Dr. Phillip Stager
