The Arkansas Governor's Quiz Bowl Association is an organization under the Arkansas Activities Association that promotes "quizbowl" within the state of Arkansas. The program began in 1985, according to its official website, and apparently features questions from such reputable sources as Academic Hallmarks, Patrick's Press, Questions Galore, and everyone's favorite slimeball, among others. The website appears to be infrequently updated, as the "History" section's latest entry claims that for the 2001-2002 season "all Senior High State winners will be offered registration money to go to ASCN in Chicago [sic]", although (unfortunately) other sections indicate that AGQBA tournaments were held as recently as 2014.

Notably, in order to participate, 9th graders must have a GPA of 1.8 or higher, while all other high school participants must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0. Essentially, the activity is governed like a high school sport, as it falls under the jurisdiction of Arkansas' statewide sporting body. Finals are broadcast on the Arkansas Educational Television Network.

NAQT lists the AGQBA as the "state organization" for Arkansas, although the Quiz Bowl Alliance of Arkansas is probably a much better representative of good quizbowl within the community.
