Buffalo Grove High School is a public high school in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The team plays in the Mid-Suburban League (MSL) and has consistently been among the better teams in Illinois. The team first rose to prominence circa 2009 under the leadership of David Garb, Nick Bergeon, and Alex Harrison. In the early 2020s they have been led by Justin Wytmar and Rohan Ganeshan, including a 5th-place finish at the 2021 HSNCT after taking just one loss in the prelims. In the 2021–2022 season, Buffalo Grove has consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation, winning the Illinois NAQT State title for the last three years between 2024-2022. In 2024, the Bison advanced to the IHSA State Finals for the first time since 2012, winning their first IHSA State Championship.
Buffalo Grove most notably played Conference rival, Barrington, in an all-Illinois 2023 HSNCT NAQT National Championship finishing as Runners-Up, 210-555.
