The Cavalier Open was a tournament held in the spring semester by UVa. While the fall Cavalier Classic and late spring NAQT Virginia Championship have continued to be run at UVa in most or all years, the Cavalier Open was discontinued after 2007.

A fifth Cavalier Open was announced for February 23, 2008, then cancelled two weeks beforehand due to "unforeseen logistical issues." The tournament was replaced with the VCU Last-Minute Tournament, which became a permanent fixture as the VCU Spring Tournament.
