The University of Chicago is a private university in Chicago, Illinois. Its quizbowl team is noted for being consistently excellent, claiming many national titles since the early 1990s. Due to their success and tendency to continually receive strong high school players, Chicago is sometimes jokingly referred to as the "evil empire of quizbowl."

Tournaments

In addition to frequently hosting ACF events, the University of Chicago is also home to the annual Chicago Open and its assorted side events, though it has been held at Northwestern for the period starting in 2018.
