The Collegiate School is a non-denominational private school in the Richmond, Virginia area (the main campus in Henrico County is just over the city line and has a Richmond address, and the school maintains a large athletic complex in Goochland County). Collegiate was the dominant team in Virginia quizbowl in the 1980s and early 1990s and won the televised National Academic Championship in 1990. Except for one year in which the club was defunct in 2014-2015, Collegiate has continuously sent teams to Battle of the Brains and area invitational tournaments for almost 40 years.

From 2008 to 2017, about a dozen tournaments operated by VCU were run at the Collegiate campus during times of limited room availability at VCU.

The quizbowl-like competition for Latin students, Certamen, was invented at Collegiate in 1971.
