Colonel By Secondary School (or simply ""CB"" for short) is a public school in Gloucester, Ontario, an eastern suburb of Ottawa. As the only English public school in the Ottawa area offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, Colonel By attracts bright students from across the city, giving the school a strong Quizbowl and Reach for the Top team.
Reach for the Top
Colonel By won its first and only city championship in 2005. It has remained a strong contender ever since, placing fourth at city regionals in 2012, and third in 2013.
Despite its participation in a bad Quizbowl format, Colonel By is a strong advocate for good, pyramidal Quizbowl. In the future, Colonel By intends to move away from Reach and focus entirely on good Quizbowl.
