Cory Haala

Cory Haala competed for Simley from 2003-2009, helping the team to consecutive Classic Suburban Conference titles and Minnesota High School Quiz Bowl quarterfinal appearances in 2007-8 and 2008-9, along with 3rd and 5th place finishes, respectively, in Minnesota High School Knowledge Bowl. He captained the team for four years and then went to Northwestern and later Marquette.
According to noted quiz bowler Mike Cheyne, Cory is "kind of a buffoon but he's a good guy."
