Fine arts (or art(s)) is a large academic category in quizbowl. In ACF, PACE, and HSAPQ tournaments, fine arts questions take up about 15 percent of the distribution of questions within a given packet; NAQT packets have far less fine arts per packet by comparison.

Visual Art

Visual arts questions are most commonly about painting, though visual "other arts" question also exist, including questions on sculpture, architecture, photography, or films of artistic significance.

Auditory Art

Most commonly, auditory arts questions are on composers or pieces within the classical and concert music repertory. "Other arts" questions in the auditory realm include ballet, opera, jazz, and highbrow musical theater.
