George Charlson is a former quizbowler for the University of Oxford, where he played during his Master's and Doctoral degrees. A constant presence on Oxford A during his second period at the university, his specialisms included Economics, Social Science and Literature, and he was Squad Captain between 2018 and 2020. George was a major force behind the founding of UKQB, the body that organizes Quizbowl in the United Kingdom, heading it as President for the first three years of its existence.

Beyond Quizbowl, George is a member of the Quiz League of London team, Ceefax the Hoop, and one of the founders of the popular online individual quiz competition, Mimir's Well
