Jonathan Thompson (affectionately dubbed "JT" by his teammates) is a member of the Alabama Academic Quizbowl Team at the University of Alabama.

Thompson attended Faulkner State Community College from 2005-2006, leading them to a NAQT Community College Championship in 2005 and second place in that division in 2006. Both years he was the leading scorer in the Community College Division. Thompson was the leading scorer on the Alabama team that finished tied for seventh in NAQT's Division II portion of the 2007 ICT; he finished as the seventh highest scorer.
