Kinkaid High School is a private K-12 school in Houston, Texas.

Team History

Kinkaid's high school team has existed since 2007, when they began competing in local Houston circuit events. The team did not qualify for nationals until 2012, when they placed 127th. The high school team ceased activity after 2014. Kinkaid's middle school team began competing in 2015, and their A team began picking up local tournament wins. The team tied for 33rd at both the 2017 and 2018 MSNCTs.

Kinkaid's high school quiz bowl program was restarted in 2019. They competed in the 2019 HSNCT, placing 147th. The 2020-21 team placed 19th in the 2021 HSNCT, 23rd at the 2021 NSC, and 15th at the 2021 NASAT as a closed team.

The full team from 2021, plus freshman Ali Hamzeh, came back for 2022 and took home regular season victories in both regional and nationwide tournaments, as well as winning its first TQBA State Championships. Despite lacking history player Cole Hartung due to COVID-19, the team managed to take fourth place at the 2022 HSNCT after a quarterfinal blowout against Thomas Jefferson Science and Tech.
