MUSES II

MUSES II: This Time It's Personal (Mythologically United Subjects in an Exceptional Set II) was an open-level 2021 side event and the sequel to the MUSES side event. Like the original MUSES, the distribution roughly corresponded with the nine classical Muses, featuring two tossups each based on epics, ancient history, music, love and emotion poetry, tragedy, hymns, dance, comedy, astronomy, and Mediterranean mythology. Unlike the original MUSES, MUSES II did not feature corresponding two-part bonuses for each tossup.
MUSES II was written by Brad MacLaine, Mitch McCullar, Iain Carpenter, Ethan Ashbrook, Ben Miller, Tim Cho, Raul Passement, William Golden, and Matthew Lehmann. MUSES III, the next set in the series, was announced in 2021.
