Maximilian Razmjoo (Class of 2024) is an history bee player for The Pegasus School in Southern California. The most notable and accomplished player Pegasus has produced to date, he has been very active in the SoCal regional NHB circuit since he was in 4th grade.

Career & individual achievements

He has won 3 consecutive ACE NHB Elementary & Middle School regional bee championships, from 2017-present.

Max has also attended nationals of the NHBB every year since 2016, including the JV High School nats since 2018 (when he was in 6th grade). However, he has never played in a general quiz bowl tournament as of May 2019.

Preparation

He has sometimes studied for history competitions with his friend and "mentor" Nate Kang.

Last name misspellings

Over the years, for whatever reason, tournament officials seem to always misspell Max's surname badly, as evidenced by the wildly varying names he has been accidentally registered under. Adding humor to this is the fact that it seems to be a different spelling every time! Examples of particularly bad misspellings include:

  • Max Rozmjaw
  • Max Razmico
  • Max Razinjco
  • Max Hazmjoo
  • Max Rasmijew
  • Max Rosenjoo
  • Max Mazmjoo
