Mount Vernon High School is located in Alexandria in northern Virginia and is coached by Adam Smolinsky. Mount Vernon participates in the invitational circuit once or twice a year and is active in both VHSL and It's Academic.
In VHSL, Mount Vernon was part of the VHSL Northern Region until the 2014 VHSL Realignment. Between the 2014 and 2015 seasons, the school was part of VHSL Region 5A North. They moved up to VHSL Region 6A North after the 2014-15 season. Starting with the 2017-18 season, Mount Vernon will be part of VHSL Class 6 Region C as a result of the 2018 VHSL Realignment.
Mount Vernon was runner-up at the Conference 7 tournament in 2016. Their B teams were grailed by Maggie Walker A at the 2014 VCU Winter tournament and Eric Xu at RAYNOR.
