Norman North High School, located in Norman, Oklahoma has had a quiz bowl team since the early 2000's. The team was coached by NAQT founding member Eric Bell from 2009 to 2011. Since then, the team has been coached by Twyla Hart. Norman North has consistently been a strong contender at the local level, winning four NAQT State Championships (back-to-back in 2014 and 2015 as well as 2020 and 2021), and placing second a further three times (2012, 2016, 2022). The team also attended every NAQT HSNCT between 2012 and 2019, achieving a best finish of T-34th in 2015; that same year, they made their only appearance at PACE NSC, placing 21st. During the 2018-2019 season, Norman North became the first (and to date only) Oklahoma school to have qualified three teams for HSNCT. Norman North has also occasionally hosted the Timberwolf Invitational, a regular-season event using NAQT questions, with the most recent iteration of the tournament being held in 2019.
