Sean Phillips is a member of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance. Sean played for Boonville High School from 1996 to 2000, where he led them to the MSHSAA Class 3 state championship in 2000. He went on to play in college at Washington University in St. Louis, where he continues to assist the team with WUHSAC and other activities. Sean graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2007 and is a member of the Missouri Bar.
