Individual stats

My best understanding of the stats situation at the 1998-2000 NSCs was that full scoresheets were used (tracking bouncebacks, individual stats, etc), they were processed to calculate standings and checked for new entries to the NSC record book, and then they were thrown away. Full stats in the predecessors of SQBS were never published. The only person involved in running those tournaments who is still around in quizbowl is Samer Ismail, so maybe someone can ask if he remembers the details. Incidents

As currently written, the "Incidents" section seems curious. The only specific incident mentioned sounds plausibly like a mistake (either in terms of the revelation being unintentional or the person not realizing it was a serious problem), and the "pattern" is not elaborated on. Either way, is there a reason it's worth mentioning over 20 years later? With such vagueness? I would think that if the person is still relevant to quizbowl, it's worth elaborating on; if the incident caused serious tournament- or community-wide problems, more details would be nice; otherwise, it reads to me just like a mildly tantalizing anecdote without enough information to really be worth mentioning. It was more than just that (also a lot of obnoxious bad-mod stuff like announcing where he would have buzzed on questions), though I don't want to use the names of people in public over 20-year-old gaffes. If it doesn't seem useful as-is just delete it. Matt Weiner (talk) 00:50, 5 April 2021 (CDT)
I'm weakly in favor of removing it, then, but I don't feel compelled to take that strong a hand myself. If other people agree with me, they (obviously) can do it. Jonah (talk) 08:07, 5 April 2021 (CDT)
