Talk:Carry

I was wondering if anyone thinks it's a good idea to make a carry page. My thought was to include what it is and players that have carried their teams.

I'm not entirely sure what this means in the context of quizbowl. I have a guess based on your second sentence. If my guess is right, I don't think the page is necessary because it's not a quizbowl term, it's a term used for team competitions in general with no specialized-to-quizbowl meaning, and I don't think it's necessary to define such terms here. For example, I don't think we would need a page for "win" because it means the same thing in quizbowl as it means everywhere else. (But we have a page for overtime because overtime works a specific way in quizbowl, or, really, several different ways depending on rule set.)

Furthermore, if my guess is right, the notion of carrying a team is subjective and potentially insulting to the players on that team. We don't necessarily need to stick to strict objectivity or avoid anything that might be insulting, but if we're going to be subjective or potentially insulting, it should serve a productive end, and I don't think this would.
