Sean Jackson got his start playing quizbowl in Middle School for Wilson Hall in Sumter, SC. He was named a started in seventh grade, with the coach praising him for his mythology prowess from reading the Percy Jackson series 4 times. He was named co-captain next year, where his team sadly came up short at regionals, losing by 5 points. In his freshman year of highschool, Sean was once again named starter for his mythology knowledge and eagerness to attend practices. That year his team got third at state, where he played a very minimal role. The next two years of highschool, he played second fiddle to SCISA quizbowl god Duncan Rupe. They made the state competition in his junior year after failing to even make it the year before thanks to getting the former state champs, Pinewood Prep, in their regionals. Much like Sean's seventh grade year, his team was destroyed in the first round of state. The next year, he would come back with a vengeance as the captain of Wilson Hall's team, laying waste to the other teams in their regionals. Unlike the years prior, the scope of his knowledge wasn't limited to just mythology, and Sean looked like a true generalist for the first time. This would carry over into the state competition, where they made a comeback win against Palmetto Christian in the first round. They faced a heart breaker against the defending champs, Augusta Christian, in the same round and sadly came up just short of making the finals. He still did better than Duncan as captain, so he considers it an accomplishment. No stats from these games are available, as SCISA sucks. Sean now attends Clemson University, where he serves as the Vice President of their club. He has continued expanding his knowledge past just mythology, and his numbers have been getting better since a terrible 2018 Sectionals showing.
