Victor Prieto is a graduate student at Penn State, and formerly played for Rice. He was first introduced to quizbowl in 2011 by Zach Yeung and Henry Gorman upon matriculating to Rice, and promptly negged his very first tossup on "Battle of Marathon" with "Battle of Lake Trasimene." Victor went on to serve as president of the Rice team in the 2013-14 year.

After graduating from Rice in 2015, Victor began graduate school at Penn State, whose team has since developed into a central component of the regional circuit, as well as regularly hosting high school tournaments.
