Vishwa Shanmugam is a player for University of Maryland. As a high schooler he turned Downingtown STEM into a regional powerhouse. He captained Downingtown STEM to an 8th place finish at the 2018 HSNCT, and an 18th place finish at the 2018 NSC, where he was the 6th place overall scorer with 112.78 PPG and the second most powers. Vishwa competed in the 2018 NASAT playing for Pennsylvania Blue, which placed 5th.
Vishwa was named a member of the Second Team for the 2018 HSQBRank All-World Teams, and was also named Pennsylvania's quizbowl player of the year in 2018.
Vishwa is famous for his generosity in the distribution of Black Forest Organic™ Gummy Bears.
