Whiz Quiz is a trivia program that airs on PBS and is filmed in Watertown, NY. It pits teams of 4 students from different schools against each other. It debuted in 1980, is hosted by Glenn Gough and features competition between American and Canadian Schools (8 schools from Kingston, ON: Napanee District Secondary School, Loyalist Collegiate Vocational Institute, Frontenac Secondary School, Holy Cross Secondary School, Kingston Collegiate Vocational Institute, Bayridge Secondary School, Lasalle Secondary School and Queen Elizabeth Collegiate Vocational Institute). There are 4 rounds of questions: Smart Start, One-on-One, Know and Tell, and Think Fast.

In more recent years, Lisgar has come from Ottawa to win the 2010 through 2012 Whiz Quiz events.

Unlike other local formats, the questions are well edited and there usually aren't that many hoses.
