Oh wow, I'm guilty of all of this stuff, I think
. . . cursing, talking about sex, politics, and
occasionally, I even join in a sports discussion. Why? Because
IMHO, this club is about the quizbowl *community*. I
happen to consider many people on the circuit to be
among my very best friends, and I therefore think it's
appropriate that the discussion flows accordingly. Let's face
it, while questions are great fun, it's also a lot of
fun to sit there and actually have an intellectual
discussion for once with other highly intelligent
people.
As for the cursing . . . anyone who knows me
personally knows that I strive to type how I talk. I'm just
keeping it real, and I do not apologize for it. Nor am I
going to start censoring myself beyond the grounds of
common courtesy.
