There has been one time in quizbowl where I have
had to completely stop a match. That was when a
certain over-used word came up once to often at a certain
tournament. See the George Washington lexicon for what that
word may be. I had to stop for a few minutes because I
was laughing so much.
Another funny story is
one of my favorite wrong answers ever, said by State
College High School in 1998 at CWRU's Great Lakes
Regional Academic Championship. On a visual bonus, they
said "The Circumsion" in identifying one of the
"Burghers of Calais." That might be the most memorable
wrong answer I ever heard.
