During the Missouri-Rolla team's drive to Wichita
State's winter tournament in February of 1996, I told my
teammates that some friends of mine in the dorm had
recently perused the Internet Ultimate Band List and
compiled a list of the worst 25 band names of all time. As
I recounted all the band names on the list I could
remember, the #2 selection seemed to especially capture the
imagination of our captain, Mark Rooney. The next day, we
were playing Missouri-Columbia and were leading by
roughly 100 points with just over a minute on the clock.
A toss-up began something to the effect of "This
practice involving animals was popular until Elizabethan
times when it was finally banned as immoral..." and
Mark rang in and using a stentorian voice he repeated
the name of that #2 worst band name
selection..."Accidental Goat Sodomy."
