Alright, I've got a pretty good one from playing
at a high school tournament last year. I think it
was Hopkins but it doesn't really matter.
We
were playing against Bryn Mawr high school. Their
school didn't even have a team normally, they'd thrown
it together three days before the tournament because
they thought it would be fun. They made the playoffs,
I remember.
Anyway, that's really not the
amusing part. I rang in on an identify-the-person type
question and said something really dumb. I can't remember
who I said at this point, or what the answer was
supposed to be. Anyway, one of my teammates grumbles
"Binfield!!" (that's my name.)
I'm sitting there, mad
at myself, waiting for the next question. Meanwhile,
one of the girls on Bryn Mawr hears the grumble, and
thinks our player was giving the answer. So then this
girl rings in, and I hear "Binfield??" Boy was I
confused.
We all had a good laugh out of it when we figured
out what had happened.
Can anyone else say
they've had their name given as an incorrect
answer?
