Actually, Hrbek is also known for being
an avid fisherman and hunter as well as being a
general outdoorsman (he talks about it in every
interview). And there are bobcats in northern Minnesota (Lake
of the Woods area). So I could imagine that some
incident where Hrbek was out with the family and scared
off some bobcat rummaging through the garbage could
be written exactly the way question was. In other
words, it was a perfectly understandable buzz and could
even have been correct.
