Re: Oh another point to this whole thing

To point out a few things:

1) Reboundable
boni have been tried before (1991 Emory Junior Bird at
the very least) at a college competition. In playing
that competition, I found reboundable boni to be a lot
of fun.

2) At CWRU, we have tried reboundable
boni for Great Lakes Regional Academic Championship,
our HS competition in March. Based on our experiences
with that competition and the PACE NSC, any problems
with reboundable bonuses have been resolved fairly
well, and the lessons we've learned can be easily
translated to college level.

3) The problems with
doing reboundable boni at the current moment on an
invitational submission-based tournament is that undoubtedly
people aren't going to take whatever guidelines I place
out on acceptable boni very easily. I'm glad to say
that most of us have tried to eschew the "binary
choice" bonus, but I don't know if everyone understands
what we're looking for on these bonuses. We're having
enough trouble trying to get people to write overall
tossups or bonuses to be acceptable for timed
matches...

--- etc.
