I should state exactly the format for the Great
Lakes Regional and PACE NSC since many of the
suggestions given in this discussion are in some form in play
in the game format. Again, all boni rebound. In
addition, there is no neg penalty on tossups.
1st
period) 10 tossups (10 points each) followed by 20-point
bonuses related in some fashion to the tossup
question.
2nd) 8 tossups followed by one-answer 15-point bonus
questions chosen by the team that got the tossup based on
category (there are 10 such bonuses
available).
3rd) 10 "power tossups" (20-10 points) followed by
30-point bonuses unrelated to the tossups. The value of
the tossup changes after the phrase "for ten points"
is read out.
