Beaver Bonspiel Results

21 teams attended Beaver Bonspiel IX at MIT yesterday.  
Congratulations to Open division winners Harvard, who defeated 
Cornell A 355-195 in the finals, and to JV division winners Dartmouth 
C.  The leading scorers in the Open division were Erik Nielsen 
(playing by himself as as BU Hit by a Train), Vik Vaz of Harvard, and 
Scott Francis of Cornell A, while the JV scoring leaders were Peter 
of Columbia C, Ting of Dartmouth C, and Janssen Choy of NYU Fear and 
Loathing.

The final standings were as follows (please let me know if there are 
any errors here; all ties below are broken based on total points):

Open division:
1.  Harvard (10-0 in the preliminary round robin, 1-1 in the playoffs)
2.  Cornell A (8-2, 2-0)
3.  Chicago (9-1, 0-2)
4.  Columbia B (5-5, 1-1)
5.  BU Hit by a Train (5-5, 1-1)
6.  Columbia A (4-5-1, 1-1)
7.  Cornell B (4-6, 3-0)
8.  Brandeis Stilton (3-7, 2-1)
9.  NYU Uruk-Hai (4-6, 0-3)
10. BU Stabbed by a Hobo (2-7-1, 1-1)
11. Yeshiva (0-10, left after prelims)

JV Division
1.  Dartmouth C (7-1, 3-0)
2.  Dartmouth A (5-3, 2-1)
3.  NYU Fear and Loathing 7-1, 0-3)
4.  Penn (5-3, 1-2)
5.  Columbia C (4-3-1, 2-0)
6.  Dartmouth B (3-5, 1-1)
7.  Brandeis Edam (2-5-1, 0-2)
8.  Cornell C (2-6, 2-0)
9.  BU Drowned in the Charles (2-6, 1-1)
10. BU Scurvy (2-6, 0-2)

Full stats should be available at some point in the relatively near 
future.

Thanks go out to everyone who helped out, to the folks at Maryland 
for swapping packets with us, and to all the teams who came.  

I do apologize to those teams that were inconvenienced by the fact 
that the MIT scheduling office gave us some non-ideally-located 
rooms.  We will take steps to prevent this from being a problem at 
future tournaments. 

Thanks again to all the participating teams, and I hope to see many 
of you at future Bonspiels.
