Personally, when I think of "bachannal", about the last thing that
comes to mind is a bunch of white dudes getting together in the
basement of some massive academic building on the campus of the
University of Michigan. I mean, obviously the usage was ironic, but
even still.

I hope there's not an answer requirement. I'm just a poor,
struggling, ulcer-ridden, migraine-ridden artist-writer-songwriter-
composer-sportscaster-ironist-journalist-provcateur-manque trying to
live vicarously through my own (distant and increasingly irrelevant)
quiz bowl past just because I was up all last night recording three
extended tracks for my new thrash-free-improv-acoustic band, The
Dueling Retards (one of which was a profoundly obscene and blasphemic
cover of Chicago's "Dialogues Part's I and II", with myself and my
bandmate doing Part II (We can make it happen...we can save the
children) in our best Dr. Strangelove/Peter Sellers' cover of "She
Loves You" voices.

In fact, I've forgotten just about everything I ever learned in 9th
grade Honors English class about run-on sentences it didn't matter
anyway.

So, say, if one travels from Lansing to Ann Arbor via, say,
Indianapolis, does that mean one's team gets the $50 dollar
discount? Money's tight these days, especially after (somebody) blew
500 G's on Worldcom's bellyflop (but that's what (somebody) gets for
taking investment tips from Smith Barney the Purple Financial
Advising Dinosaur.)

My parents had some pretty rough ideas. When I was growing up in
Florida, about 8 or 9 years old at the time, I had a dream of growing
up to be a citrus farmer, owning an orchard, growing oranges,
producing orange juice, and freezing and packaging it for shipping
across the country. I told my folks that this was what I wanted to
do when I grow up.

The next summer, they sent me to a concentration camp. I tell ya, I
got no respect even back then.

Whilst the players band together, join hands, and sing the official
theme song of quiz bowlers worldwide, Devo's "We're Through Bein'
Cool".
