Re: Helpful sites??

Well, there are currently 91 links listed for
this club, many of which are related to reference
material. A few choice links
are:

<a href=http://www.umich.edu/~uac/mac/maize/index.html target=new>http://www.umich.edu/~uac/mac/maize/index.html</a>
 - A site which links to almost everything in
quizbowl (especially at the college
level).

<a href=http://users.sgi.net/~kidder/refdesk/ target=new>http://users.sgi.net/~kidder/refdesk/</a>
 - A virtual reference desk, linking to sites
containing reference info on most
topics.

<a href=http://www.britannica.com/ target=new>http://www.britannica.com/</a>
 - The Encyclopaedia Britannica online. Now free
for everyone.

In terms of books to get you
started, the quiz bowl world swears by "Benet's Reader's
Encyclopedia".

But, by far the best way to get better at
literature for quiz bowl is to actually read the books!
(Wonder of wonders!) You won't be able to cover as many
books, but you will actually be able to answer questions
on the books you've read, and get the added benefit
of reading some great literature.
