All of your points are well taken, what bugs me
is that I never hear "we have to go with what's
printed on the page" with a math question, whereas it is
often the case with humanities without even an attempt
to ascertain whether any of the coaches in the room
know the answer.
But take heart, we humanities
people get invited to the best parties in college. ;-)
