see, I was making an attempt at humor. (Maybe such
attempts are hopelessly lost on this board.)
The
post to which I responded mentioned the "Premier
League". I correctly deduced that Mr. Pickrell was talking
about association football, but using the term
"football" deliberately instead of "soccer." The little joke
was to poke fun at that, by claiming, in jest, that
he mispelled the NFC and the NFL (as opposed to the
National Conference and the National
League).
<< And his/her spellings were all quite correct. A
little humility might be in order next time
