Pre-Announcement: Grinnell Undergraduate Tournament

Since I'm currently trying to avoid doing actual work, and since it
seems people are already staking out dates for the fall:

The Grinnell College Academic Team is pleased to announce the First
Grinnell Undergraduate Tournament, tentatively scheduled for Saturday,
October 4, 2003. Our plan is for this tournament to be a
non-submission, modified NAQT tournament for undergraduate teams only,
using the same eligibility and team composition rules used by the
Carleton Undergraduate Tournament.

We are tentatively capping the field at 24 teams, though that number
is subject to change depending on interest. As far as fees go, we are
currently looking at the same fees as used by Carleton for their
undergraduate tournament ($50/team, -$5 for buzzer, -$10 and our
undying gratitude for moderator). We will have more information on
that come this summer or next fall, however.

The tournament will be held at Grinnell College in sunny (sort of)
Grinnell, IA, approximately one hour east of Des Moines on I-80. For
those of you who are unfamiliar with the location, Grinnell is within
5 hours of the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago, Madison, and Kansas City
metropolitan areas, and within 7 hours of the St. Louis metropolitan
area.

For more information, please send an email to houston at grinnell dot
edu. More info and any changes will be posted here as it becomes
available, and this announcement will obviously be reposted once teams
have reassembled next fall. We hope to see you in Grinnell in October!

Cheers,

Brad Houston, GUT TD
