Since it seems that open weekends in October are disappearing rather quickly, I'll throw my hat in now. The University of South Carolina Academic Team is pleased to invite all teams to the first of a hopefully annual Charles Townes' Memorial MASER (Mind Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Rumination) Tournament in beautiful and historical Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, October Fourth. It is a modified ACF Junior Bird tournament (packet submission optional) open to first and second year college quiz bowl players. It is an opportunity for new freshman and other young members to participate in a moderately difficult, but still accessible tournament and earn valuable experience.
