Continuing from last point...
There's a
reason why some of these schools that competed at Chip's
banded together to do ASCN at Lake Forest. Some of them
will still do Chip's, but most of the teams there
really enjoy and have a lot of fun with Gary Lipshutz's
tournament. Now not everyone agrees that the ASCN tournament
is the best one, but most of the teams there
consider it superior to Chip's competition in both quality
of academic emphasis in questions as well as
tournament field and competitiveness.
Of course, you
Illinois schools get screwed because Gary won't separate
room costs from his entry fee.
