To keep things brief: Of course there is no reason to expect you to
concede any stake in the D2 title which you indeed earned at the
tournament. And as I said in the last paragraph of my post, we harbor
resentment towards the lack of an attempt at a D2 playoff (which you
seem to share in your comments), not your team. The reason I brought
up the stats was not to claim that we should have won the title on
account on numbers alone (sorry if I made it seem that way), but to
point out that our 0-10 record in the prelims had much to do with the
selection of our bracket and that our numbers showed that indeed we
would have been competitive for the title had a playoff taken place.
My post, which I'm glad Zeke acknowledged in his comments, was meant
to question the legitimacy of determining a D2 champion without a
final match; not your team's legitimacy in being awarded the title.
