It should be noted that, although I did "officially" take 1st place,
this was only because Iowa State decided that, in order to make the
number of teams and the number of packets they had come out right,
their host school house team (Matt Cvijanovich, Warren Miller, Sean
Kenney, and Scott Moser) would not be eligible for the playoffs. That
team was undefeated through the round robin, giving me my only loss.
After the playoffs, from which they were excluded, and from which I
emerged as champion of the rest of the field, there was still one
packet left unplayed, and so we played a rematch on it, with the ISU
team beating me a second time. I definitely consider them the actual
tournament champions.
