2003 Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassador Award announcement

The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence proudly announces
that Carolyn Hawkins is the recipient of the 2003 Benjamin Cooper
Academic Ambassador Award. Ms. Hawkins, the coach for the Cookeville
Academic Team, has also served as one of four regional liaisons for
the Tennessee Academic Coaches Association and as the organization's
Calendar Coordinator. At the 2003 NSC, she will be recognized for
her outreach to promote academic competition within Tennessee and
nationally. The Benjamin Cooper Award Committee (email to Dr. Thomas
Chuck at etchuck_at_...) welcomes any additional commentary to
help draft the formal citation, to be read at the 2003 National
Scholastics Championship at Case Western Reserve University,
Cleveland, Ohio.

PACE wishes to congratulate Ms. Hawkins for winning this award. She
joins a prestigious list of recipients, selected for their service to
the growth of high school academic competition. A list of the past
recipients can be found on the PACE NSC web site at
http://www.cwru.edu/orgs/trivia/pace/cooper.html .

The NSC still has slots available for at-large teams. Please contact
Allison Manzuk or Dr. Chuck to apply for an at-large bid or to
register if you have an automatic bid. The deadline for entries is
the receipt of the registration check by June 1. More information
will be posted at the PACE NSC website (http://www.pace-nsc.org/) and
by email to all registered contacts. All registered teams (by May
