Re: [quizbowl] Buzzer systems and airport security?

We brought four buzzers (one Judge, one Quiz-A-Matic, and two Quackers)
to HSNCT, with some varying success.

We checked the Judge, probably not the best idea, but it made it
through without irreparable damage.
The Quackers gave us no problem at all; they went through the X-Ray
with our other carry-ons and came straight out.
The Quiz-A-Matic was subject to hand searches, as it has some sort of
anti-X-ray metal box, or something.
But they all made it through in the end.

In all, people have been flying to tournaments and bringing buzzers for
a long time, and there's enough technology at airport security these
days for them to conclude you're not carrying explosives without
confiscating your buzzers. You're probably best carrying them on.
